These are the products –

Silk saris,

dyed in

purple, pink, yellow, and orange,

transported from Xinjiang to Beijing.

Wool rugs,

woven in

blue, gold, brown, and burgundy,

carried from Kashmir to Xanadu.

Spice bundles,

composed of

anise, mace, nutmeg, and cloves,

shipped from Molluca to Lisbon.

Gold nuggets,

molded into

rings, pendants, swords, and coins,

hauled from Kathmandu to Madrid –

That motivated the formation

of so many roads and routes.

These are the crafts

That created the connections

Between so many cultures and natures.
